On 1st September 2012, based on repeated requests from abbot Tulku Thubten and Khenpo Tenzin, Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche went to Tashi Monastery to give teachings and bestow empowerments.

The Sangha welcoming Rinpoche arriving at Tashi Monastery. The abbot Tulku Thubten and Khenpo Tenzin studied Dzogchen at Ya Qing before and are Guru’s disciples. After they returned to their hometown, they set up Tashi Monastery. There are over thirty Sangha learning the Buddha Dharma in the temple. During their three year course, they learned the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra (or Enaging in Bodhisattva behaviour – Shantideva), A Guide to the Dzogchen Preliminary Practices (or Words of My perfect Teacher, by Patrul Rinpoche) and The Thirty Seven Practices of Bodhisattvas. During Gyalwai Nyugu’s visit, they reported their learning progress to Rinpoche.

Rinpoche gave teachings for 3 days at Tashi Monastery, contents including actual practice instructions of Dzogchen, Lama Tsongkhapa’s Three Principal Aspects of the Path, Seven Points of Mind Training, Novice Vows, etc. At the same time he spoke about the future development of the temple, the importance of maintaining a pure lineage, the development of the Sangha and a harmonious inter-religious relationship.

In the morning on 3rd September, the Sangha and devotees invited Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche on pilgrimage to the holy Tara Mountain.

Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche, the Sangha at Tashi Monastery and devotees made offerings to the Dharma Protectors at the holy Tara Mountain, and consecrated the holy mountain. After reciting of Sutras, all of them came up to the mountain peak, and scattered the prayer papers and hung five colored prayer flags. After making offerings and blessings, many Buddha images and auspicious syllables appeared naturally on some stones at the holy Tara Mountain.

Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche was very happy and commented that this was very auspicious, and he showed everyone the treasure stone, and used it as the auspicious object for the empowerment. On this auspicious day, Guru bestowed the Tibetans the Avalokitesvara cutting through samsara empowerment, and all devotees were very blessed and satisfied.

The horse which Rinpoche rode on became highly respected and thereafter would not be ridden on again by others. This is the simple Tibetan-way of offering their deepest respect to Rinpoche.
