There were about 2500 people from China and people from other countries gathered at Kaang Monastery with Rinpoche. Among them, there were more than 1500 Tibetan disciples who participated in the program.

In the morning of 17 July, a crowd of disciples gathered from the camp site outside the Monastery and spread over 40 kilometers away. A convoy of about 70 cars and 70 motorcycles and about 40 horses were there to welcome Gyalwai Nyugu. Colourful khata were hanging from every vehicle and coloured flags were draped over the horse's backs. The manager of the Pema County television station was there personally to film the procession and the police chief was there to clear the way for the convoy.

Many Tibetans were dressed in their festive dress, holding colourful khata, waiting patiently and respectfully. It was so spectacular, a procession that many Chinese disciples had never witnessed before. Just when the welcoming ceremony was finished, a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky.

Then he went to the tent area where the disciples where camping to look at their living conditions.

With tender loving care, Rinpoche asked about each disciple and expressed concern about whether they had altitude sickness, and whether it was too cold in the night and whether the food is fine.

At dawn of the same day, despite the fatigue, Rinpoche went to the canteen of the Chinese disciples to look at the food catering facilities for the disciples and gave 20 thousand dollars to the staff there to be used for improving the food to be catered for everyone.

From 18 July onward, Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche began giving teachings in Chinese in the morning and Tibetan in the afternoon. Regardless of whether the Rinpoche's teaching was in Tibetan or Chinese, everyone was eager to listen to the Dharma discourses by Guru and language seemed to be no barrier. Come rain or shine, the large tent was always filled with eager disciples attending to the Dharma discourses.

On 20 July, Rinpoche and about 300 sangha members of the Monastery gathered to recite sutra to consecrate Kaang Monastery, the Hall of Peace and Harmony and the Buddha statues.

To allow disciples to accumulate merits and clear obstacles and also to benefit infinite sentient beings, on 21st, Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche specially invited, Renzeng Nima Rinpoche, who is over eighty-nine years of age, the incarnation of King Gesar, to visit Kaang Monastery. Renzeng Nima Rinpoche is a great Dzogchen lineage master. Even in Tibet, it is very difficult to meet such a highly realized master.

In the morning on 22nd, Renzeng Nima Rinpoche gave a talk to the disciples. He sat on the Dharma seat to give teachings and blessings. He said, all external phenomena are actually pure, but it is our mind that is not pure so we only see impure phenomenon. He encouraged everyone to practice the Dharma, to put in effort to accumulate merits and purify defilements, and to achieve Buddhahood swiftly.

He also pointed out that the disasters in the world today are the results of sentient beings’ karma, and as disciples of the Buddha, we should contribute our efforts to world peace and harmony. Finally, Rinpoche led everyone in pray for harmony, prosperity and world peace.

On 23rd, Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche bestowed the Thousand Buddha empowerment to over two thousand Tibetan and Chinese disciples. In order to make connection with the thousand Buddhas, Rinpoche specially arranged an offering session before the start of the empowerment.

In the morning, the disciples formed teams by region, lined up, holding beautiful khata, presented their offerings to Rinpoche and prayed that Rinpoche lives long, continues to turn the wheel of Dharma, and may bright light of Dzogchen shine over all dharmadhatu, benefiting all sentient beings, create good originating causes for the empowerment and Rinpoche's current and future Buddha Dharma activities.

Crystal stupa for world peace and harmony is prepared for the thousand Buddhas empowerment. May the places where the stupa goes bring the teachings of the Buddha Dharma, world peace and auspiciousness!

On behalf of the 37 local monasteries in Sichuan region, a housekeeper in Ya Qing Monastery made offerings to Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche and beseeched him to accept these 37 monasteries, to be the root guru for the sangha members of the 37 monasteries and invited Rinpoche to visit the monastery to bestow empowerments and to spread the Dharma.

When the empowerment started, the original clear blue sky immediately changed, wind blew and nectar rain fell and after the empowerment, the sky cleared. Surprisingly, it happened again on the next day when Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche performed Four-armed Avalokiteshvara empowerment. Everyone exclaimed that it is the protection of the nagas and Dharma protectors. The empowerment ceremony continued into the evening. The touching scene was witnessed by more than two thousand Chinese and Tibetan disciples present. This made the Chinese disciples understand the preciousness of the Buddha Dharma, and that to request for teachings from Rinpoche is such a sacred and solemn matter.

To participate in the empowerment and blessing ceremony is to create connection with the thousand Buddhas, and to appease the obstacles of this life, swiftly develop good fortune and wholesomeness. Sakyamuni Buddha taught in the sutra: when the world was originally formed, there was a big lake, in the centre of the lake were a thousand lotuses. The thousand lotuses symbolizes that a thousand Buddha would manifest to preach the Dharma. So in this degeneration time, three Buddhas had come and now is the time of the fourth Buddha - Sakyamuni Buddha, he came to preach the Dharma, to benefit all sentient beings and to carry out the Buddha activities. We are very fortunate to be born in this time, and to obtain precious human lives, and able to listen and practice the Dharma.

We are very fortunate to be born in this time, and to obtain precious human lives, and able to listen and practice the Dharma. In the evening, the clouds shrouded and rays shone, patches of clouds hanging in the sky formed a huge auspicious conch, like an auspicious omen that the melodious sound of Rinpoche's teachings will spread throughout the four cardinal directions.

The mani wheel is given to everyone as a souvenir for the conference. Rinpoche says, “Mani wheel is the liberation method that Buddhas of the ten directions all agree, it benefits all sentient beings in the degeneration time, I hope many mani wheels can be spun. Let’s pray for good weather, peace and prosperity, world peace, and may all sentient beings be free from sufferings and have happiness!"

Everyone was very happy and everyone's hearts were filled with joy. The disciples from all over the world presented a specially prepared program as their offering of their practice to Guru, their gratitude towards Guru and also their enthusiasm and diligence in their practice of the Dharma.

The unity and harmony of the disciples brought a smile to Guru’s face. This smile made everyone feel very pleased and excited. As the conference was held on the plateau, the material condition was very poor, shortage of water, leaking tents due to heavy rain, altitude sickness, security issues, diet, and so on. These were issues that many did not expect before coming. At the moment when the disciples saw Guru’s smile, all the difficulties were worth it. Among the participants, there were people of other religious persuasions who came to learn. Rinpoche hosted them and said, “The essence of all religions is loving-kindness and compassion. The conflicts between different religions are because of lack of understanding. Science, medicine, philosophy are all having the same objective to create happiness and bring benefits to the world, although their views and methods may be different. If we can understand these, we will have deeper knowledge of our own religion, will respect other religions more and will not develop conflicting views.” Rinpoche’s words left a deep impression in the non-Buddhist present and they can feel the unity, harmony and influential energy of the Buddhist community.

Besides giving teachings to disciples daily, seeing to the affairs of the monastery and preparing the next day ceremonial activities, Gyalwai Nyugu still managed to find time to meet every disciple, asking about their practice and encouraging them to practice diligently. Each of the disciples was filled with excitement, holding khata and waiting patiently to meet Guru. Everyone wished to have more time to get close to Guru.
0
During the conference, Rinpoche taught the participants how to grasp the main point of the Buddha Dharma and meditation and how to use the view of Buddha Dharma and meditation to transform the afflictive emotions and sufferings that arise in our daily lives.
0
All participants gained much during the ten day conference. A disciple from Shanghai said that everyone experienced the impermanence and changes, as Rinpoche always taught, during the conference. The actual program progressed differently from the planned schedule due to many unexpected reasons.
0
Although Rinpoche did not lead us in meditation directly, he made us recognize the importance of retaining mindfulness even when we are not participating in meditation sessions. In fact, everything in life can be objects of meditation. Meditation is not just restricted to the time spent on the meditation cushion.

One disciple said, she felt a sense of being reborn from participating in the conference, especially after the empowerment, not only did she rejoice, she had a deeper understanding of meditation and she understood that to actualize Dzogchen, the only possibility is by completely relying on the blessing of an accomplished guru.

Rinpoche says, “The meaning of Buddha Dharma can be encompassed in two words: compassion and wisdom. When our speech, action and thoughts are absorbed in compassion and wisdom, such a state is no different for a Buddhist or non-Buddhist, and there is no self-grasping, to benefit others in such a state and to view all sentient beings as our parents, with equanimity and love. This is the ultimate benefit, and will not result in any negative impact.”
0
The loving kindness and compassion of Rinpoche is strong! A seventy-year-old lady from the Northeast region said she was actually accompanying her daughter who is a Buddhist to tour the area, but when she was there, she could feel the strong blessings of the Buddha Dharma and she decided to become a Buddhist herself.

"When we learn to calm our mind, to feel subtly the blessings of the Guru, we will realize that Guru has already quietly dissolved into our lives. In our life journey, every moment, when we met with obstacles on the way, Guru is always us, watching over us, protecting, guiding and waiting for us. Guru is like a mirror, he reflects our inner selves, every audience with guru, is a confirmation of ourselves."
0
"Through our faith, we are constantly in the immeasurable blessings and goodness of our Guru, entering the path of liberation, relying only on our Guru!"
0
After the end of the forum, Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche requested everyone to make a common aspiration prayer, to protect our earth, environment and to maintain world peace and harmony, away from disasters! He hopes more people can participate in the 4th conference in 2013 to share the theme of peace and happiness of mankind.

The conference was very auspicious, everybody was very happy. The sky was beautiful, as if in the pure land. A brilliant rainbow glowed, hanging in the clear sky ... like a colourful bridge, leading all sentient beings to nirvana.
0
Finally, let us pray that our benevolent Guru, Gyalwai Nyugu Rinpoche has good health, his Buddha Dharma activities spread far and wide, may all Dharma friends realize the teachings of Dzogchen, may the rainbow light of Dzogchen spread throughout the dharmdhatu, shining into the hearts of every sentient being.
